About Me!

Hi y’all! My name is Denali. I am a family-loving, scholarship-applying, future-planning, adventure-going, and chocolate-eating kind of girl. I was like many high school seniors, ready to be done with school forever! But also like many high school students, I loved to learn. That is why I chose to continue my education through college. I hope to major in nursing and then continue my schooling to become a nurse-midwife, but in reality, I know that anything and everything can change.

My Story

Once-upon-a-time there was a little girl that loved her family, forest, and Savior. Everything was right in her world, but like every fairy-tale, that girl had her fair share of hiccups. She wanted to become a farmer, missionary, mom, princess, wildlife ranger, or history teacher, anything…. except a nurse, that was too normal. The world was undiscovered territory waiting to be conquered and how could she conquer with such a basic job?

Then came a hiccup.

My family and I moved away from my childhood home when my mom became extremely ill. In high school I realized I was incredibly interested in the human body and in serving people, so, I decided to push past my pride and chose nursing for my career and college major.

However, to go to college I would need a bunch of money… and I have none.

Winning scholarships is my only way to go to a university like I have always hoped I would. As I go on this journey of essay writing and form filling, I hope to learn from the experts and share what I learn with others along this college journey so that we can conquer together! It isn’t only affording college that’s going to be tough. Figuring out how college works, how to manage all the changes especially in this crazy time, and staying the course till graduation will also be incredibly difficult. Making it into college is only a small part of the battle, how to navigate college life is a whole other struggle I hope to learn more about throughout my years in college.

Whether you are just beginning your college planning or are already in the midst of college exams, I hope I can offer some encouragement and maybe a tip or two to help you on your journey! If you are long past the college years, still take a look, maybe you can reminisce or give me some pointers! I am a newbie at this too, so lets learn how to do this whole college thing together!
